My name is Guy and am an Ilkeston based tutor covering the immediate and surrounding areas with bespoke in person tuition and more recently UK wide with effective online options also. With a wealth of classroom and tutoring experience, I love working one to one with students in helping them develop their skills and confidence in maths and science from KS3 all the way up to GCSE and A Level.
Originally a physics graduate over the last few years I find myself teaching more and more maths as a stand alone subject. I specialise in confidence building, getting to know my students in helping them meet the challenges of the reformed GCSE 9-1 in maths and physics.
Session are tailored to each student individually. You are assured of personal attention and patience. I will always find a strategy to help overcome any barriers in my students achieving their full potential. I've been offering private tuition for the last 11 years and can offer a wide selection of references from successful students I've worked with. From the first run of the new maths GCSE 9-1 in 2017 through to the present, I have enjoyed a 100% success rate in my students achieving a grade 4 or above with exceptional performances at grade 7 and 8, despite the challenges of the pandemic!
I also working with A Level students in maths and physics, supporting them with the demands of the new post 16 specification.
In person tuition is offered in student's homes within a an approx 5 mile radius of DE7 but having also transitioned online can offer a nationwide service which has demonstrated to be equally as effective.
Am happy to offer free initial consultations to discuss student's needs and how I could help so please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Enhanced DBS and references available on request.

My name is Dina G., a highly experienced and qualified teacher. I have over 14 years of teaching/tutoring experience combined. I have an excellent record of pupils who get top exam results. Most of my pupils had gone on to the universities/colleges of their choice and continued to do well, confident that they are capable of doing great. My pupils consider me their mentor who always got their back. I encourage them to be confident in tackling on challenging Maths questions and not afraid to make mistakes as that’s part of the great learning process. I endeavour to make my pupils’ lessons fun and engaging as that is how I get the best from them. I have a degree in Mathematical Studies with honours (BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Studies), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Maths and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Some testimonials from my clients are: 1) 'Hi Dina, I just wanted to say thank you for all your help and patience with tutoring xxxxx. I think that going from a U to a B in less than a year is amazing and it's meant he got his place to do aerospace engineering at Leicester-definitely not something that was on the cards this time last year! It was definitely the right decision to get your help. Thanks again'. Karen W, A Level Parent (Aug 2023). 2) 'I found the help of my tutor exceptionally helpful. It gave me the additional support I needed and the way it was structured for me, was exceptional. Being able to ask for support whenever I needed it during my private studies really helped my progress alongside the weekly sessions. I feel like the help of Dina has greatly helped me in securing the A level results I was hoping for in Maths. William W, A Level student (2023).

I have been a part-time tutor for four years. My personality and qualities fit complementary to tutoring, developing others’ potential by sharing mine. I have assisted and tutored young students from simple intervention sessions (helping young children develop their English & Maths skills) and GCSE & A-Level students towards exams and entrance exams, bringing success into the study community.
MECHANICAL & AEROSPACE Engineering support For University students is also available"
I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. It is focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic, before applying that knowledge to solving questionnaires. I also specially aid with exam preparation to share my own unique methods of working and exam techniques/tips. Ultimately, I aim to develop one’s self-esteem and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.
I have taught a wide age group from 5 to 24, which my past tutor sessions were based on creativity of my hobbies such as art, which always worked absolutely well since when I was a GCSE student.
I have many experiences working with children, especially with spending my work experience as an assistant in a primary school class, I was able to interact and deal with various situations to keep the children calm, focused and motivated. As a school tutor, I utilised my organisational skills to collect resources and investigated various methods of teaching to find the most efficient way to deliver difficult contents, suiting the students’ own learning attitude appropriately. I evolved my communication competency whilst discovering the students’ difficulty and preferred revision methods, also.
I am someone who has academically succeeded highly through UK national curriculum. I have passion towards mathematics thus, I have participated and have been awarded many times for UKMT, and moreover, for Chemistry and Physics Olympiad challenges as Gold and Bronze respectively. I held responsibility as a School Ambassador and School tutoring, volunteered to be a Reader Leader who helps those who struggle reading and understanding the story with success. I aid in writing model answers for GCSE & A-Level exam questions as well. Not only am I self-disciplined and persevered but I enjoy hobbies that are based on creativity: DIY craft and art, piano, dancing, sport, ballet, balancing my work and leisure. I am also fluent in English and relatively fluent in Korean with a basic level of French language. My experiences in life, living in various different countries allowed me to interact and adapt into many different societies, overcoming many barriers. Hence, I am very approachable and developed lots of life skills.
Not only have I built responsibilities and punctuality and polished my competencies. For those who I mentor have developed their own self-esteem, confidence and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.

I am a BSc Mathematics and Actuarial Science student and have recently finished my first year in the University of Leicester. I have completed my GCSE's and CIE AS and A Levels where Maths was one of my subjects.
I have had experience in tutoring an overseas A Levels student in CIE A Level Maths. Due to the pandemic, she was not able to get the best out of the online learning and asked me to assist her before she took mock exams for teachers to provide an average grade for her AS Levels. I have also had the chance to help my siblings, who are aged 10, 12 and 14, in Maths. I have helped them with homework concepts, personal practice doubts and I have taught them specific topics that they required help with.
I am available for students who would like help over the summer with Maths whether it be for concepts that may not be clear from this year or preparation for the next year's portions. My strategy for teaching is practice as it is highly important after you learn the concepts to give time to ensuring that you know how to apply the knowledge you have gained.
The first lesson that you book will be free and will be a time where we discuss and find out what exactly you would like for me to help the students with. On an ongoing basis, I will ensure that my tutoring is tailored to their needs and requirements.
I am unable to travel but am happy to provide my services online.

I am a polite, patient and friendly DBS-certified University lecturer, with a passion for teaching. Being lecturer means I not only have all the academic understanding and knowledge required to be a fantastic and thorough tutor, but I can also sympathise with my tutees about the quirks and difficulties of educational mathematics and tailor the experience to make sure they reach their full potential. I will also motivate my tutees in their study of mathematics and demonstrate how it is both a beautiful subject in its own right and an invaluable tool in the real world. The courses I offer tuition in are: - A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Outside of my teaching, I enjoy cycling, playing badminton and cooking. In addition to providing tuition in Loughborough, I offer home tutoring in areas within 5 miles of Loughborough (at a marginally higher cost). I also offer Online Tuition; however, I highly recommend having lessons face-to-face (once we are out of lockdown). In the interest of maintaining high-quality tuition, I much prefer to not have every lesson online, but instead using my online services as a method of continuity. I believe (and have witnessed!) that everybody learns differently, and effective teaching comes from incorporating these differences; so, I will provide an environment for learning that is completely malleable to my tutees` needs. Fundamentally though, mathematics requires both an understanding of a topic and sufficient practice, so each session will split the time between these two. I encourage my tutees to steer each session towards their needs (and interests) - for example, particular difficulties with one topic or more detailed explanations and applications of another - which will not only ensure that they maximise the efficiency of their learning but also will build their own confidence in their abilities.

You don't have to keep struggling with Maths and Computer Science, my goal is to help you understand your subject and get the grades you wish for! I am available to tutor KS3, GCSE and A-level Maths (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and Computer Science (OCR, AQA and Edexcel) I am a Computer Science graduate and full-time tutor. In my spare time I write technology-related content on my personal blog. I teach KS3, GCSE and A level content leading up to exams. My teaching style is tailored to the student and their personal needs, which is a step up from the "one size fits all" teaching method commonly used in schools. My goal is to ensure that each of my students feel confident with maths and meet their personal aspirations. Feel free to drop me a message! I'm looking forward to meeting you.

My level of qualification is a BSc. In Physics from The University of Nottingham.
I have been tutoring maths for 15 years as well as teaching piano to all ages for the last 30 years.
Over this time I have gained experience of the issues facing children regarding their academic
endeavours as well as their personal worries and struggles with confidence. I have always been
open to their expression of themselves and offered friendly support and understanding.
Over the years I have encountered a number of autistic students and been able to communicate
successfully with them, helping them to gain trust and some belief in themselves as individuals
in the world. On occasion I have been contacted again by their parents for further tutoring.
My main focus with maths tutoring has been primary and GCSE level.
